Pastors and Elders

Arnold Tan

Elder

Arnold came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in the early 70’s through the Sunday School program from a local church in Singapore. He migrated to Sydney in 2004 and has been an elder in ESCCC since 2006. He oversees the music and church building ministries.
He is passionate for Christ and continues to experience more of Jesus’ love with each passing day.
Arnold was an Architect and continues to work in the building industry. He loves singing and enjoys baking. He is married to his lovely wife Cindy and they have 2 wonderful children, Nicholas and Esther.

Boon Kiat Su

Elder

Boon Kiat attended ESCCC (was known as East Sydney Community Christian Asian Church) during his student time in the 80s. He returned to ESCCC in 2010 and has the privilege to serve as an Elder since 2018. He is the current liaison elder for the ESCCC Mandarin service ministry.

Originally from Ulu Sarawak, he accepted Christ as his own personal saviour in his teens through the evangelical ministry of Rev Stephen Tong. God found him again while studying in UNSW through the ministry of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) where he was made to understand that Christian faith is a lifelong personal relationship with our Lord Christ Jesus.

He is married to Charlotte and is blessed with 5 children.

Lawrence Yong

Elder

Lawrence has attended ESCCC since 1998 and has been serving as an Elder since 2008. Originally from Kota Kinabalu, he accepted Christ through the ministry of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) while studying at UNSW.

He did not know then but he now knows it was because God had secretly and sovereignly imparted spiritual life to those who have been called. He knows he has received forgiveness for sin by trusting alone in the
person and work of Jesus Christ for that forgiveness.

He is married to Chern and has one adult daughter.
