Arnold Tan

Elder

Arnold came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in the early 70’s through the Sunday School program from a local church in Singapore. He migrated to Sydney in 2004 and has been an elder in ESCCC since 2006. He oversees the music and church building ministries.
He is passionate for Christ and continues to experience more of Jesus’ love with each passing day.
Arnold was an Architect and continues to work in the building industry. He loves singing and enjoys baking. He is married to his lovely wife Cindy and they have 2 wonderful children, Nicholas and Esther.

Bob Rick Looi​

Deacon for Building​

Rick first joined ESCCC in 2019 when he first arrived in Sydney. Welcomed by his friends in ESCCC who were students or former students from the Overseas Christian Fellowship, he shared accommodation with some of them in ESCCC. Having stayed, cared for and be blessed by staying in ESCCC, Rick found it natural to take up a role to support the management of the building while supporting the church by being a Community Group leader. 

Boon Kiat Su

Elder

​Boon Kiat attended ESCCC (was known as East Sydney Community Christian Asian Church) during his student time in the 80s. He returned to ESCCC in 2010 and has the privilege to serve as an Elder since 2018. He is the current liaison elder for the ESCCC Mandarin service ministry.

Originally from Ulu Sarawak, he accepted Christ as his own personal saviour in his teens through the evangelical ministry of Rev Stephen Tong. God found him again while studying in UNSW through the ministry of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) where he was made to understand that Christian faith is a lifelong personal relationship with our Lord Christ Jesus.
 
He is married to Charlotte and is blessed with 5 children.

Chang Thai Lee​

Elder, Treasurer

Chang has been a member of ESCCC since 2014. He also serves as a General Practitioner in the community as his vocation.

Eddie Yoon

Elder

Eddie is a Graduate and postgraduate from UNSW, undertook the Diploma in Biblical Studies (Moore Theological College) in the late 70’s.

He was first exposed to Christianity through the local Sunday School in Malaysia. It was through the ministry of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) the Navigators and the local community church in Sydney that helped unravelled the Christian faith as an on going relational fellowship with Christ Jesus.

Eddie is a member of the foundational team for OCF UNSW (1977) and ESCCC(1980), has been serving as an elder in various capacities and periods since the inception of ESCCC.

He is currently retired and married to Rostina with two sons, two daughters in law and two grandchildren.

Eva Tang

Student Minister

Eva is currently studying full time at Moore Theological College. She joined ESCCC in 2022 for a year as a student minister as part of her preparation to serve the Lord.

​She is married to Howard. They have two fur kids – Kathy the cat 🐈 and Waffle the 🐰.

Jose Lam

Associate Pastor

He loves Jesus and is committed to sharing the good news about Him. Prior to joining ESCCC in 2020, Jose studied at Moore Theological College. Before going into full time ministry, Jose worked as an Internal Auditor and studied Commerce at UNSW.

Jose is married to Vincy and they have two boys.

Lawrence Yong

Elder

Lawrence has attended ESCCC since 1998 and has been serving as an Elder since 2008. Originally from Kota Kinabalu, he accepted Christ through the ministry of the Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) while studying at UNSW.

​He did not know then but he now knows it was because God had secretly and sovereignly imparted spiritual life to those who have been called. He knows he has received forgiveness for sin by trusting alone in the
person and work of Jesus Christ for that forgiveness.

He is married to Chern and has one adult daughter.
