The Gospel is of Divine Origin (The Apostle Paul Called by God)

Galatians 1:11-24

In Jesus Christ, God is promising us that we can take part in a better story. A story that ends not in darkness and bitterness and pain and death. But a story that ends with resurrection to eternal life and joy and peace. This story is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and on this Easter Sunday God calls to us to put our trust in this gospel message once more.

1. The Gospel is of Divine Origin (vv.11-12)
Jesus Christ, he gave himself to rescue us from death, he died to save us from our sins, he was raised from the dead, he is alive today. This is the message of the gospel as God himself has told it. Believe this gospel of Jesus which is the very word of God, and follow him.

2. The Gospel Transforms (vv.13-20)
When the gospel of Jesus calls you and me, we will surely know it. Because our lives will never be the same. The gospel transforms lives.

The transformation that God has brought about in our lives has been made possible because Jesus Christ brought a great transformation in the life of our apostle Paul first, and appointed him as the one through whom the gospel would eventually make its way across the oceans and across the ages to us.

3. The Gospel is Preached (vv.21-24)

We cannot make new Christians. All we can do is preach the word of God. Because God has told us to trust him when he says that his gospel will do the work of transforming the hearts of men and women. And we have the example of our very own apostle, the apostle Paul to stand as witness to the fact that preaching is the divinely appointed method of getting the message about Jesus out, and that it works.
